Fujitsu to Consolidate Global IT Solutions Brand
- Flagship Services Subsidiaries ICL and DMR Consulting to Adopt Fujitsu Corporate Name

Fujitsu Limited announced that it will fully transition its flagship overseas IT services and consulting subsidiaries, ICL and DMR Consulting, to the Fujitsu corporate name as part of an effort to strengthen its global IT solutions brand. Already among the world's top three services groups, with more than 2 trillion yen in consolidated services and software revenue and active in over 50 countries, Fujitsu intends to further build on its leadership position by leveraging and enhancing the individual and collective strengths of ICL and DMR Consulting under the common Fujitsu brand. > more

Fujitsu Merges Three Subsidiaries in Singapore to Further Strengthen Customer Focus in Asian Region (Fujitsu Limited - Tokyo, Japan)
Fujitsu Limited announced that it will combine the information processing and telecommunications operations of its three Singapore subsidiaries into a single consolidated company, effective July 1. This consolidation will allow the new company to better serve its customers in the region, by pooling resources and combining the sales, marketing, R&D, and support capabilities of each subsidiary into a one-stop solutions source. ICL chairman awarded CBE in Queen's birthday honours list (ICL - London, UK)
Michio Naruto, chairman of the Board of ICL and special representative, Fujitsu, has been awarded the Commander of the British Empire (CBE) in the Queen's birthday honours list. Mr Naruto has been given the honourary CBE for his services to the Anglo/Japanese trade. He has been heavily involved with the UK IT industry since 1968. He was a key member of the Fujitsu team that negotiated the technology licensing agreement between Fujitsu and ICL in 1981. > more

Fujitsu Software Corporation Announces Fortran Support for the Microsoft .NET Platform (Fujitsu Software Corp. - San Jose, US)
Fujitsu Software Corporation announced that Fortran has been added to the languages it will support for the Microsoft .NET Framework. The announcement means that organizations with an investment in Fortran, a programming language developed in 1954 to express mathematical calculations, will now have access to the latest in XML Web Services technology and application development frameworks, such as ASP.NET, Microsoft's successor to Active Server Pages. > more

Fujitsu Siemens Computers to provide Audi with crash simulation capability: Supercomputer hpcLine with 128 processors (Fujitsu Siemens Computers - Munich, Germany)
The car manufacturer Audi, Ingolstadt, has just chosen Fujitsu Siemens Computers to provide the computing platform for its new strategic competence center for stochastic crash simulations. After evaluating several RISC based and Intel based solutions, Audi decided on Fujitsu Siemens Computers' hpcLine system - also Intel based - for simulating random crash situations. The system will be customized to meet Audi's needs for scientific and technical applications, and will be an integrated Linux cluster system based on 52 Pentium III dual processor nodes and 24 Pentium 4 nodes. > more
